UTEP announces 2023 football promotions schedule

EL PASO, Texas - UTEP’s 2023 football promotions schedule was announced on Monday. 

The Miners will kick off their six-game home schedule against UIW on Saturday, Sept. 2 in the Sun Bowl. 

In conjunction with the induction of the 1988 UTEP football team into the UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame, the Sept. 2 game marks the return of Miner Magic on 80’s Night.

 To celebrate, UTEP is rolling back football ticket prices to 1988 for one day only on Tuesday, May 16. Tickets will be available for just $7 and $12 in select sections for the Miners’ home opener from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Sept. 23, the Miners will host UNLV on 915 Heroes Night. This is also UTEP’s Sun Bowl Sellout game for 2023, with a goal of packing 45,971 fans into the stadium as the Miners take on an old Western Athletic Conference rival. 

UTEP will pay tribute to the Borderland’s military, first responders, medical personnel, and teachers at this game. 

The Sept. 29 game versus LA Tech is Noche Latina. The Oct. 18 game against NM State is the 100th edition of the Battle of I-10.  

The Nov. 4 matchup versus WKU is Homecoming. The Nov. 25 game against Liberty is Fan Appreciation. 

UTEP Football season tickets start at just $65 and are available now either online (www.UTEPMiners.com/Tickets) or by phone (915) 747-UTEP. Single-game tickets will go on sale Tuesday, May 16.  Fans can also stop by the Eisenberg Family Ticket Office, located at 201 Glory Road (Brumbelow Building Room 109). Ticket Office regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

This year marks the 60th anniversary of UTEP’s iconic Sun Bowl Stadium. 

Game times will be announced soon following the completion of the Conference USA television schedule.

Take a trip back in time as UTEP welcomes the 1988 football team back to the Sun Bowl! The winningest team in school history will be honored for its induction into the UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame along with Christine Brandl (volleyball), Holly Cohen (soccer), Fred Reynolds (men’s basketball), Anthony Rotich (track & field) and Bob Stull (football coach and Director of Athletics).  

Sept. 23 vs. UNLV – 915 Heroes Night/Sun Bowl Sellout

The people that make this community great take center stage as UTEP honors the military, first responders, medical personnel and teachers of the region – featuring static displays in and around the Sun Bowl. Meanwhile, the Miners aim for another capacity crowd in the stadium as they host the Rebels for the first time in 30 years.

UTEP celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month and spotlights El Paso’s cultural vibrancy with unique in-game elements. Look for a special “Date Night” package to be made available this summer and bring your significant other to this special Friday night game! 

Oct. 18 vs. NM State – Battle of I-10/100th Game in Rivalry

The Battle of I-10 is always special, but this year’s game takes on an even greater meeting as it is the 100th matchup between the Miners and the Aggies on the gridiron. The stakes are also higher than ever, as it marks the first time since 1961 that UTEP and NM State will square off as members of the same conference.  

Nov. 4 vs. WKU – Homecoming
