‘Doppler’ Dave Speelman, chief meteorologist

“Doppler” Dave Speelman is the Chief meteorologist for KVIA-TV.

He began forecasting weather at KVIA in 2000 - longest served Chief meteorologist in KVIA-TV history.

Originally from Oak Park, IL., (the first suburb west of Chicago) “Doppler” has been on the move following his Master’s Degree working in Jackson, Mississippi; Meridian, Mississippi and Amarillo, Texas.

“Doppler” Dave lives on a small farm with his wife Nelda and their three boys – Luke, Nathan and Mark. Outside of television, you can find Dave on his Kubota tractor tending to his pecan trees and growing Giant Bermuda grass for animal feed.
