Police search for driver involved in deadly hit-and-run

UPDATE (03/22): Police officials have yet to identify the 26-year-old man who died as a result of Saturday night's crash.

Special Traffic Investigators say the fatal crash happened around 9 p.m. on North Mesa Street after a pedestrian crossed into the southbound lanes and was hit by a silver vehicle who fled the scene.

Fire Medical Services transported the pedestrian to a local hospital but later died.

This is the 14th traffic fatality compared to nine last year.

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso police say a pedestrian was hit by a car on the westside Saturday night.

Authorities say the crash happened on the 3200 block of Mesa St. at 9 p.m.

There is no further information about any injuries.
