Teen accused of stealing car, getting it stuck in El Paso desert area

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- 17-year-old Angel Salazar is facing theft and burglary charges after the El Paso Sheriff's office says he took someone else's car.

Officials say the alleged theft happened on the 3500 block of Mark Jason Drive in Homestead Meadows South. Deputies tracked him down in a nearby desert area, where the car had become stuck in the sand.

Salazar was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
