EL PASO, Texas -- Three people were hurt, including a child, after a car crashed into a semi-truck Friday evening along the Border Highway in El Paso's Lower Valley.

The crash happened just after 6 p.m. on the Border Highway East at the Zaragoza exit, which typically has long lines of semis waiting to get off and turn into Juarez.

Authorities said the three crash victims were taken to University Medical Center, with two of them suffering serious injuries. A child was said to be among the trio hurt in the collision.

Police traffic investigators were at the scene trying to determine what caused the crash. No further details were immediately available.
