Fiery I-10 crash near Van Horn kills 2

MGN

VAN HORN, Texas -- An SUV that spun out of control along a rainy Interstate 10 in Culberson County over the holiday weekend triggered a three-vehicle fiery crash that claimed the lives of an Arizona truck driver and a central Texas woman, state troopers said Tuesday.

The deadly wreck happened Sunday on I-10 eastbound about 10 miles east of Van Horn when the SUV driver lost control on the wet highway and struck a semi-truck, which would then be struck by a second semi and ignite a fire.

The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the pair killed as truck driver Bradly Dean Johnson, 53, of Tucson and SUV driver Viviana Carrillo, 33, of Austin.

The other truck driver, Rigoberto Villalobos, 50, of San Antonio, was hospitalized with serious injuries from the crash.
