Relevant Experience

I have been practicing law in El Paso for 39 years, for the most part as a solo practitioner. I have experience in just about every aspect of the legal practice, including litigation, appellate, business law and employment law. Since 1991, I have generally been the only patent attorney in El Paso; prosecuting patent applications along with trademarks, copyrights and all form of licensing the foregoing.

Personal

I graduated high school in San Antonio, 1975. Played football at UTEP, 1975. Graduated Texas A&M University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. Worked as a chemical engineer at Reynolds Metals Company in Corpus Christi, 1979-1987. Graduated St. Mary's Law School in 1987. I am married and proud father of one son.

If you are elected, what are your priorities for El Paso?

Too often, the legal system seems to take too long. I promise to move my docket along making sure that every person is given a fair opportunity to be heard.

What are your plans to ensure transparency and make sure you are accessible to constituents?

This question does not really fit for a judicial candidate, as everything I would do would be in open court with a written record.

What makes you the best candidate?

My experience.
