ABC-7 First Alert: Some severe storms are possible tonight

Happy Saturday everyone! Today is a good day to be weather aware as severe storms are possible across the region. As of 5 PM we have storms to the south and west pushing towards the NE. These storms have a lot of lightning, which likely means hail is coming out of these storms.

As we are watching for severe storms, the qualifications for a severe t'storm means 60 mph winds or greater and 1 inch size hail or greater. These storms can certainly cause some flooding around the region. Timing wise we can expect storms after 8 PM through about 12 AM.

After today, we are looking at a pleasant Sunday with highs in the upper 80s, before warming up for the rest of the week. Temperatures will quickly rise into the mid-90s by the start of the work week.
