ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Heat risk, air quality, concerns & climbing rain chance

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Temperatures will once again hit the triple digits as air quality remains a concern along with increasing rain chances.

The National Weather Service has issued a Weather Alert for portions of the El Paso county area:

• Heat Advisory in effect from August 4, 12:00 PM MDT until August 6, 09:00 PM MDT

Today we woke to temperatures in the upper 70s to the low 80s. We will experience above average temps today. El Paso is expected to reach a high of 103, Las Cruces is expected to reach a high of 101.

Today we also woke to a lingering haze with air quality in a moderate range. If you do have respiratory difficulty consider wearing a mask.

Also tonight we are tracking increased rain chances through the region with rain chances climbing tog 30%.
