ABC-7 First Alert: Gusty winds continue tonight along with scattered thunderstorms

The Monsoon may have officially kicked off Wednesday but the borderland got a taste of active weather Thursday afternoon. The rain and downpours hit parts of northeast El Paso and kicked up gusty winds. Thunderstorms started to fire up during the evening in western Hudspeth and far east El Paso Counties, some areas experienced winds gusts to 40+ mph. Thunderstorms created dangerous driving conditions and ignited a Blowing Dust Advisory. Scattered storms will continue tonight with temperatures dropping to the upper 70s. A Flood Advisory remains in place until 12:45 am for El Paso and Hudspeth Counties.
