ABC-7 First Alert: Cold front brings snow showers, followed by winds, and cold temperatures

The ABC-7 First Alert continues through Thursday. A strong cold front moved through the Borderland Thursday morning bringing strong southwest winds and cold air. The cold front moved in from the northwest, increasing winds up to 50 mph in some locations.

The temperatures dropped rapidly wind chills made it feel as if temperatures were in the low 20s and 30s. As the air temperatures dropped to the low and mid-30s, the moisture moved in and quickly transitioned into light snow.

The west winds will continue between 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40+ mph expected. Gusty winds could blow around the unsecured objects, be safe out there.
