El Paso City Representative Isabel Salcido re-elected to District 5 City Council

EL PASO, Texas -- Incumbent representative Isabel Salcido, defeated two candidates new to politics, podcaster Richard Genera and retired federal law enforcement officer Felix Munoz.

Salcido made it clear she wants to build off what she has done since 2018 and improve infrastructure in District 5 on the east side of El Paso, which is the fastest-growing part of the city. Salcido believes everyone needs to work together to lower taxes for El Pasoans.

Richard Genera is a podcaster for "The El Paso Beat." said told the El Paso Times his priority in running was tackling property taxes and valuing transparency, engagement and accountability while focusing on jobs in El Paso.

Felix Munōz is an Army Veteran who is retired. He said he was is willing to put 100% of his time into the city council. In an El Paso Times questionnaire, Muños said his priorities are in running for District 5, he said he wanted to reduce unnecessary taxpayers' money by issuing bonds over the course of years, improving public safety, and being transparent with the people of El Paso.
