‘Unidentified’ remains discovered in field where Fort Hood soldier’s remains were also found
KILLEEN, Texas -- Witnesses reported finding "unidentified" remains in a Killeen field on Saturday evening, according to police.
ABC affiliate KTRK indicated the discovery was made within walking distance of the site where investigators found missing Fort Hood soldier Gregory Wedel-Morales' remains on June 19.
The discovery came as search crews continued to look for another missing Fort Hood soldier, Vanessa Guillen.
Guillen was last seen back in April, however, officials have not yet said if the two disappearance cases are connected.
Homicide detectives removed the remains and sent them to a forensic science lab in Dallas for further review.
