ABC-7 First Alert: More rain through Monday

Happy Saturday everyone! There are a lot of events going on this weekend, but unfortunately, those rain chances aren't going anywhere. For today, expect many more rounds of rain to move through the area. You can expect some rain by lunchtime, and another big patch of rain around 8 PM this evening. We are up to a 60% chance of rain today, and 70% for tomorrow.

Most of the rain will be light showers, but there is a small chance for a few thunderstorms today through Monday. Where those thunderstorms form, we can certainly see a heavy downpour in that area, which could lead to flooding. In addition, seeing as we've had rain all week long, the grounds are saturated, and any large amount of rain could lead to flooding in that area. Ultimately, just be aware of your surroundings for the next few days!

Chalk the Block and the Festival of Chariots are both going on today. If you want to head out there, certainly have the rain gear on standby! That means an umbrella, rain jacket, appropriate footwear, and whatever else you need to take care of yourself in the rain. Both museums (history and art) in downtown El Paso will be open/free to the public, so you can always dry off there.
