CBP agents to be shifted to Paso Del Norte bridge, Texas DPS to resume enhanced inspections

U.S. Customs and Border Protection

EL PASO, Texas -- More U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel could be coming to the border to assist with cargo, pedestrians and regular traffic.

This comes after the surge of migrants over the past week.

Also today, the Texas Department of Public Safety said it would resume commercial vehicle safety inspections at Texas ports of entry, similar to inspections that happened in April.

CBP is pulling resources from other ports of entry to the El Paso Del Norte Bridge.
