33rd anniversary of Las Cruces bowling alley massacre

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) — It has been 33 years since a horrible crime left the city of Las Cruces shaken.

On February 10, 1990, four children and three adults were shot at a bowling alley on 1201 E. Amador by 2 unidentified men. Four people died that day, including three children. A fifth victim died several years later from injuries suffered in the shooting. The suspects have never been caught and the case remains unsolved.

Las Cruces Police said over the years, they've received tips about the possible identities of the suspects, but none have resulted in an arrest.

Police say the case is hindered by several factors, including that in 1990, no DNA was collected from the scene. The suspects also set fire to the office which destroyed other possible evidence.

Las Cruces and Doña Ana County Crime Stoppers continues to offer a $25,000 reward for information that helps identify the suspects. Tips can be provided anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
