El Pasoans can learn more about proposed climate policy to the city charter at community meetings

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - El Paso residents have been invited to several meetings to learn more about the proposed citizen-led climate charter that will be found on the ballot in May.

The next meeting will be at the Mission Valley Regional Command at 9011 Escobar on April 13 at 6 p.m.

The charter amendment, known as 'Prop K' is described as "The first citizen-led piece of climate legislation in the state of Texas," according to a website supporting the climate charter.

El Paso residents have received opposition flyers against Prop K, with one flying claiming it will El Pasoans over $38,000 in taxes per household.
