Labor Day Is All Wet

EL PASO, TX. – A very consistent rain pattern settledover the El Paso areaovernight and heavy showers have caused some streets to flood.

Constant rain from Alamogordo in the north, west to the New Mexico-Arizona border and throughout El Paso County are again placing a strain on residents, businesses and the region’s infrastructure.

On Sunday, several businesses hard-hit on the city’s west side were threatened once again. Business owner Annie Mo tells ABC-7 the entire situation is “getting old.”

In New Mexico, farmers and residents are struggling with water in their homes and in their fields. In Radium Springs, some homes are under nearly 10 feet of water from repeated arroyo breaches.

Showers and embedded thunderstorms continue to pass through the area and will continue through out the afternoon, ABC-7 StormTRACKER Troy Barrett reported on Monday.

Meteorologist Barrett added that mist and drizzle is also expected, along with heavy showers, for most of Monday afternoon and evening.

The chance for more rain today is high. Barrett has forecast an 80 percent chance for continued rain.
