RED EYES

Red or bloodshot eyes can result from several different eye conditions which cause inflammation of the blood vessels of the eye, or by something as simple as smoke, smog, lack of sleep or eye makeup.

Redness-relieving eye drops are available. Eye comfort can be increased if the eye drop also contains a lubricant to soothe and protect the eye (see Guide to Selecting Eye Care Products inside). Sometimes it is necessary to flush the eye of foreign particles causing the redness. This can be done with an eye wash (a buffered, sterile solution).
