Halloween decoration at Juarez convenience store having split reactions

JUAREZ, Chihuahua (KVIA) -- A week before a popular holiday, many are already putting out their Halloween decorations.

Employees at an 'Oxxo' store in Juarez set up a crime scene decoration next to the cashier, and they have been receiving complaints ever since.

A doll under a blanket, inside an area surrounded by yellow tape, and evidence markers.

ABC-7 visited the store Tuesday morning, and the doll no longer there.

Employees at that 'Oxxo' said they had to remove it because some customers were complaining since it received a lot of attention, and they also received mixed opinions about it.

They never thought it would be so broadly criticized since decorating has been a Juarez tradition for many years now.

Other Juarez residents said, Halloween decorations in the city are normal for them since it is also a borderland tradition.

Juarenses think decorations are fun and clever, and like to have them in different places all over Juarez.
