Man Hit By Semi

EL PASO, TX. – A man is was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after being hit by a semi.

It happened at about 10:45, between the Executive Center and Sunland Park drive exits of I-10 West. The pedestrian was taken to Thomason with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency medical communications indicated the man barely had a heartbeat and was barely breathing – when he was rushed to undergo emergency surgery.The westbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours – while special traffic investigators examined the scene and questioned the driver of the semi

It is not yet known why the man was trying to cross the freeway. The driver of the semi was not hurt and is not facing any charges at this time.
