Blockbuster Collapse

EL PASO, TX- Tuesday’s rain has caused some major damage all across the Borderland. Rushing water in some areas has been strong enough to send buildings crumbling to the ground.

Witnesses told ABC-7 earlier that a wall collapsed at a Blockbuster Video near the corner of Mesa and Sunland Park.

ABC-7 spoke to a Blockbuster spokesman who says the store is closed, but did not have any information about whether or not anyone was hurt in the collapse.

Thomas Shell, a witness to the wall collapase, describes the scene to ABC-7, “the water’s real strong, I mean you can see what happened over at Blockbuster, the whole back wall caved in… All we heard was a big rumble, and me and my manager started running up the street and the by the time we got there, the firefighters had already gotten everyone out.’
