ABC-7 First Alert: Windy and warm Wednesday, big changes by the end of the week

El Paso, TX( KVIA)- The ABC-7 StormTrack Weather team issued an ABC-7 First Alert for a significant temperature drop, increased rain chances, and windy conditions.

The cold front will arrive on Thursday, ushering in colder air. Temperatures will drop to the 50s and 60s across the area on Friday; winds will pick up with gusts from the Southwest around 40 mph in east and northeast El Paso.

On Tuesday, El Paso set a new record high of 86 degrees, the hottest temperature ever recorded in late November. We are on track to set another record this afternoon for the heat. Highs will reach the mid-80s today with breezy to windy conditions; the record to beat today is 84 degrees, set in 1942.
