EL PASO, TX. – A 38-year-old El Paso man is dead after crashing his motorcycle overnight Friday, but his body wasn’t found untilSaturday afternoon.

David Marin was exitingU.S. Highway54, heading up the Interstate-10 West on-ramp. For some reason, he lost control of the bike and flew off the highway. Police received a call about a motorcycle crash at about two in the morning.

“They began to search the area and actually canvassed the area underneath the Spaghetti Bowl and unfortunately were not able to find anything,” said El Paso Police Spokesman, Javier Sambrano.

The disappearance of David Marin had family members worried all day. They gathered near the Spaghetti Bowl as the search continued. Then, at about 1 p.m., a tow truck driver spotted a body near the Concordia Cemetery.

The 38-year-old father of two young children did not survive the crash. “He was with us on Thursday when he buried my father. Being a navy seal, he joined a line of veterans to bid my father farewell. We toyed with him being the only Navy veteran in the group. The rest of us were Army and Marine. We grieve his loss,” said Marin’s uncle, Martin.

El Paso Police shut down a portion of the freeway, trying to see if another driver may have run Marin off the road. No other informationhas yet beenreleased.
