El Paso Sheriff’s Deputy Involved In Motorcycle Accident

EL PASO – An El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured Friday morning in a crash. Investigators report a car pulled in front of the deputy’s motorcycle at the intersection of King Palm Dr. and Turner Ave. in East El Paso County.

Investigators said the car was a 1996 Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was pulling out of a gated mobile home community when the crash occurred.

The deputy was thrown off his motorcycle and onto the hood of the car, and he then landed on the pavement. The deputy still managed to summon help, said sheriff’s office spokesman Rick Glancey.

“One of our motorcycle officers who was also working traffic about a quarter of a mile away responded on the scene,” Glancey said.

The extent of the deputy’s injuries were not disclosed. Investigators did not reveal what charges, if any, will be filed against the driver of the car
