Snow Showers Continue Overnight

EL PASO — Snow flurries and showers fell early into the morning hours on Sunday, and streets began toice over as the temperature dropped below the freezing mark.

Road lanes, traffic signs, and even other carswere less visible overnight as the snowfall became more intense.

Crews spent most of Saturdaydeicing major roads leading to hospitals and highways.

Emergency crews had to respond to numerous crashes overnight, but none involved any serious injuries, authorities said.

State transportation officials and the city’s Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the storm and its after effects.

Authorities advise the public to stay off streets if at all possible until driving conditions improve.
