Fire At Juarez Maquiladora Contained But Continues To Burn
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — A fire at a south Juarez maquiladora park continues to burn. Just after noon on Thursday, 60 firefighters were still at the location of the massive fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon, according to the Juarez fire department.
Officials decided to let the fire burn itself out. The firefighters are there to make sure the fire does not reignite.
Firefighters believe the fire was started by a short circuit inside the MCS de Mexico plant in south Juarez.
The fire then spread into another maquila, FoxComm.
