Mexican Police Chief Gunned Down In Piedras Negras
The Associated Press reported the police chief of a Mexican border town was killed as he drove home Saturday.
Retired Mexican Army Colonel Arturo Navarro took over as chief of police of Piedras Negras, just across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas, less than three weeks ago.
Last week, 70 police officers walked off the job, demanding his resignation. They said his leadership left them in fear of gang retaliation.
