Las Cruces Police Officers Shoot And Kill Man, Placed On Leave

LAS CRUCES — Two police officers have been placed on administrative leave after they shot and killed man, according to a spokeswoman for the Las Cruces Police Department.

The shooting happened at about 4 p.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of Petunia St.

Sgt. Kiri Daines said the officers were conducting a “domestic” investigation and were confronted by an armed suspect that was one of the subjects of that investigation.

Daines said thesuspect was shot and killed. The police officers were not injured and the shooting is being currently under review from amulti-agency investigation team.
