Tularosa Coach Accused Of Having Sex With Student

TULAROSA, N.M. (AP) – A 39-year-old Tularosa Middle School math teacher and assistant high school football coach faces 15 counts of criminal sexual penetration involving a 15-year-old high school student.

Magistrate court records allege William P. McKinsey had sex with the girl in his classroom several times between November 2009 and January 2010.

Tularosa Police Chief Ken Selman says the student was interviewed after he received allegations last week about a Tularosa teacher and coach.

McKinsey was arraigned Friday in magistrate court and was released on $150,000 bond. He will be at his father’s house in West Virginia.

A preliminary hearing is set for March 24. District Attorney Diana Martwick says the alleged incidents took place on middle school property.
