Husband Mourns Wife, ‘Sunshine’ Of His Life

All Ron Lindsey wants is to see his “sunshine.”

“It just seems like any moment she’s gonna call or come through the door,” Ron Lindsey said of his wife, Sharon.

Sharon was killed Saturday in Northeast El Paso. She was nearly thrown out of her SUV when a car driven by a Fort Bliss soldier hit the SUV she was riding in with her husband.

“I caught the car out of the glimpse of my eye and there was no time to react,” Ron said. “How do I walk away with bruises and she loses her life?”

Ron said his wife was a doting mother of four with a passion for life.

“She was the sunshine that my world rotated around,” Ron said. “It’s hard to fathom someone with that much color and spirit to just be gone, you know?”

An outpouring of support is helping the family cope with the loss.

“People have come from everywhere to tell us how she touched their lives. It’s quite beautiful really,” Ron said.

Sharon is also missed by her co-workers at the Texas Department of State Health Services where she ran prevention programs and worked with nurses all over the state. Her co-workers said she is irreplaceable.

Ron is left with snapshot memories of a fun-loving, warm-hearted woman.

And if the family ever wants to hear her voice again, they just need to look to son Micah’s music. Sharon recorded background vocals on “Bound for Happiness,” a track on his band’s CD.

“This is the last song she recorded with me,” Micah said before playing the song.” “I think I’m gonna play that one for her funeral. I think she would really appreciate it.”
