Police Looking For Driver, Vehicle In Fatal Hit-And-Run

The El Paso Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic accident that happened early Monday morning.

According to investigators, 52-year-old Jack Claibourn was crossing Cotton Street just south of Missouri when a vehicle headed northbound struck him and fled the scene.

Paramedics took Claibourn to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Investigators think he was hit by a dark blue vehicle or possibly a pickup truck, with the vehicle sustaining damage to the front end and windshield.

This is the 38th traffic fatality and 11th pedestrian fatality of 2010, according to El Paso Police.
