West Side Man Allegedly Showed Gun During Road Rage Incident, Police Say
El Paso Police have charged a West Side man with aggravated assault stemming from a road rage incident Tuesday evening.
Police said Jason Rakes, 34, of the 8700 block of Lakehurst, was driving his red Dodge SUV at 9:43 p.m. Tuesday when he became engaged in a confrontation with two others individuals in a separate vehicle. At the 800 block of N. Resler, Rakes allegedly pointed a handgun at the two and yelled, “that’s how I get down (expletive).”
Rakes then headed home where he was found by police. He was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Rakes was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds of $40,000.
