I-25 Reopens Near Las Cruces; Limited To One Lane

Las Cruces Police have re-opened northbound access to Interstate 25, at Highway 70 in Las Cruces , but traffic is limited to one lane until New Mexico State Police complete its investigation into a Friday afternoon crash.

Motorists headed northbound on I-25 were diverted to Highway 70 for about half an hour while emergency crews attended to injuries from the crash. The crash was reported to have occurred shortly at 1:30 p.m. today. New Mexico State Police is investigating the crash.

A second motor vehicle crash was reported at about 2:15 p.m. on northbound I-25 near mile marker 5, between Lohman Avenue and Highway 70. No serious injuries were reported in that crash. Police are asking that motorists use extreme caution along I-25 as emergency personnel are still at the scene of both crashes. A repaving project along the highway also demands that motorists pay extra attention to their driving.
