Police: Woman Throws Baby At Leaving Husband

An El Paso woman was in jail Sunday after police said she threw her baby at her husband in attempt to get him to stay.

Sheriff?s officials said Erika Esparza Robles, 19, and her husband are separated. When he stopped by their house to pick up some of his things, she got upset and tried to prevent him from leaving, police said.

Robles threw the baby at her husband, who fortunately caught the 1-year-old, police said.

When investigators showed up to arrest Robles, they said she began punching and biting the deputy.

Robles faced one charge of endangering a child and one charge of assault on a public servant, police said.
