Police: Woman Leaves Child In Truck

The El Paso Police Department said it charged Blanca Bonilla, 44, with abandoning or endangering a child after officers saw a 1-year-old locked in a Truck 2 a.m. Friday.

The incident happened in the parking lot of a closed car wash in the lower valley. Police said they saw two vehicles, one containing the child and one containing Bonilla and another person who were engaging in sexual relations.

Police said the truck containing the child was locked and had its windows rolled up. The officer saw that the child was sweating and then immediately approached the vehicle containing Bonilla and requested the keys to free the child.

The officer removed the child from the truck and placed Bonilla under arrest and booked her into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $2,500.
