Road closures in El Paso County, Las Cruces for the week of October 21 to 25

EL PASO, Texas -- From west to east El Paso, to Southern New Mexico there's a construction project in almost every part of the Borderland. Here's a complete list of TxDOT's and Las Cruces road closures October 21 to 25.

I-10 Widening West

Sunday, October 20, and Monday, October 21

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• South Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between the Artcraft Road onramp and Redd Road.

Crews will be installing concrete pavement.

Monday, October 21, through Friday, October 25, and

Monday, October 28

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• South Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane south of Bentridge Drive.

Crews will be installing metal beam guard fence.

Monday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 22

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• I-10 East will be reduced to one lane between Redd Road and Mesa Street.
• The eastbound Artcraft Road onramp will be closed.

DETOUR: Continue on South Desert Boulevard, enter I-10 past Mesa.

Crews will be placing concrete pavement.

Monday, October 21 through Saturday, October 26

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• I-10 East and West will be reduced to one lane between Vinton Road and Transmountain Road as needed.

Crews will be working on retaining walls.

• I-10 East and West will be reduced to one lane between Mesa Street and Redd Road.

Crews will be conducting earth work.

Wednesday, October 23

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• I-10 East will be reduced to one lane between Los Mochis Drive and Transmountain Road.

Crews will be placing concrete pavement.

Thursday, October 24

9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• I-10 West will be reduced to one lane between Transmountain Road and Los Mochis Drive.

Crews will be placing concrete pavement.

US 62 Rehabilitation Project

Monday, October 21 through Tuesday, October 25

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Daily)

• If Needed Mobile Lane Closure - Paisano / Montana (US-62) westbound and eastbound alternating closures I-10 to Airway Boulevard.

Crews will be placing permanent striping along newly paved lanes.

North Mesa Street Lighting Improvement Project

Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Mesa (SH-20) northbound and southbound alternating lane closures Glory Road / East Baltimore Drive to Mesita Drive/Sun Bowl Drive
• If Needed Mobile Lane Closure – Mesa (SH-20) southbound alternating lane closures I-10 to Crossroads Drive
• If Needed Mobile Lane Closure – Mesa (SH-20) northbound and southbound alternating lane closures Mesita Drive/Sun Bowl Drive to Sunland Park Drive

Crews will be boring for electrical conduit, pouring drill shaft foundations, potholing, installing new lighting poles, removing existing poles, electrical inspection, and Concrete sidewalk and landscape repairs.

Traffic Signal Improvements Project

• Dyer (BUS-54) north and southbound right lane closures at the Hondo Pass Drive intersection.

• US-54 Gateway North Boulevard and Gateway South Boulevard right lane closures at Martin Luther King Boulevard/Kenworthy Street intersection

US-54 & State Line Project

• US-54 south- and northbound from State Line Road reduced to one lane

Crews will be working demolition and preparation of the new turnaround of side shoulders.

Paisano Bridge Replacement

• US-62 (Paisano) eastbound between Doniphan and Executive closed

Crews will be working on demolition and bridge work.

Pedestrian Facilities Improvement Project

Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 24

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

·     US-62 (Paisano) west- and eastbound between Boone and Val Verde right lane closed

Crews will be working on demolition of guardrails, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalks, and fencing.

·     BU-54 (Dyer) west- and eastbound between Titanic and Hercules left lane closed

Crews will be working on drill shaft excavation.

·     SL-478 (Dyer) west- and eastbound between Ellerthorpe and Julian right lane closed

Crews will be working on trenching for conduit installation.

Purple Heart 375 Widening Project

• Purple Heart Highway north and southbound shoulder closures from Montana Avenue to Spur 601

Crews will be widening main lanes and constructing north and southbound frontage road.

Loop 375 Widening Project

Continuous closure, beginning Monday, October 21 to Friday, October 25

• Americas Avenue (frontage road) southbound left lane and south to north turnaround UPRR Bridge underpass at North Loop Road
• Americas Avenue (frontage road) northbound, north to south turnaround UPRR Bridge underpass at Alameda Avenue

Crews will be working on installation of curb/sidewalk, guardrail, and concrete barrier.

SH 20 Alameda Mill and Inlay Project

Sunday, October 20 to Friday, October 25

Nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• Alameda Avenue (SH-20) east- and westbound alternate lane closures between Padres Drive and Glenwood Court

Crews will be milling, paving, and installing pavement markings.

Horizon (FM1281)/Darrington Reconstruction Project

• Darrington Road at Pawling Drive alternate lane closures

Crews will be installing temporary signals on existing traffic poles.

Crews will be working on striping new pavement.

• Horizon Boulevard (FM1281) westbound lane closure from Torrey Pines to Desert Mesa Drive, lanes reduced to one lane
• Horizon Boulevard (FM1281) hike/bike trail from Torrey Pines to Desert Mesa Drive will be closed indefinitely.

Friday, June 28 until further notice

• Horizon Boulevard (FM 1281) westbound lane from Desert Mesa to Rodman Street will be shifted to the median and transitioned back on Rodman Street
• Horizon Boulevard (FM 1281) and Lago Del Esta intersection closure

Crews will be working on final subgrade, pavement operations and excavating ponding areas.

Alameda Raised Medians Project

Sunday, October 20 to Friday, October 25

Nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alameda Avenue (SH-20) east- and westbound inside lane closures between Rio Vista Road and Passmore Road

Crews will be installing concrete medians and electrical items.

Loop 375 Mill and Inlay Project

Sunday, October 20 to Thursday, October 24

Nightly, 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• Joe Battle Boulevard (frontage road) north- and southbound alternating lane closures between Pellicano Drive and Montana Avenue
• Traffic will be reduced to one lane in work areas.

Crews will be pouring concrete sidewalks in the shoulders and striping at intersections controlled by Temporary Traffic Signals.

ADA Improvements Project

Monday, October 21 until further notice

Daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Alameda Avenue (SH-20) east- and westbound alternating lane closures from Americas Highway (Loop 375) to Horizon Boulevard (FM 1281)

Crews will be removing sidewalks and ramps for ADA improvements.

I 10 Landscape & Aesthetics Project

Friday, October 18 to Friday, October 25

Daily, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• I-10 eastbound at Lee Trevino underpass right lane and shoulder closure.
• Gateway East Boulevard at Lee Trevino Drive left lane closed.
