Update: Teacher Arrested For Child Pornography Says He Knew About It
The Irvin High School dance teacher arrested on charges of receiving and sharing child pornography told investigators he knew he had the illegal material.
The criminal complaint obtained by ABC-7 investigators said Marco Alferez told authorities he “had been involved in the receipt and possession of child pornography for several years.” The court document also stated Alferez used Limewire, a popular peer-to-peer file sharing program to obtain the child pornography.
The document stated that three different files of child pornography were found. The videos discovered on Alferez’s computer featured young pre-pubescent females engaged in sexual acts, according to the complaint.
“Child porn? You know, there are a lot of kids that just hang out in front of his house constantly,” neighbor Angel Moreno said after learning of the charges leveled against Alferez.
Alferez remained in jail at the El Paso County Detention Center without bond. He has also been placed on paid administrative leave from his job at Irvin High School.
