Former UTEP Great Chris Sandle Has Died

Chris Sandle, a former UTEP forward during the 1980s, has died according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

Sandle died Wednesday at the age of 44 in his Compton apartment following a series of health issues, the newspaper reported.

Sandle was a McDonald’s All-America who played for two seasons at Arizona State and two more at UTEP, where he teamed with Stallworth and the late Jeep Jackson (Gardena High) to upset the University of Arizona in the first round of the 1987 NCAA Tournament.

Sandle is survived by his parents, a sister, Tammi, and three children: sons Jordan and Chris Jr. and daughter Kirsten.
