Update: El Paso Police ID Elderly Woman Struck, Killed By Car Monday

El Paso Police have released the identity of the 72-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday morning while crossing the street.

Virginia Fester, 72, of the 1500 block of Lou Graham, was crossing Vista Del Sol near the intersection of Lou Graham at 7:45 a.m. Monday when a Honda CRV, driven by 34-year-old Edrick Arreola, of the 200 block of Yale, hit her.

Police said there was no crosswalk where Fester was crossing the street and that Fester died at the scene from her injuries. Police said they do not suspect alcohol was involved in the crash but are investigating whether or not speed was a factor in the crash.
