El Paso Police: Husband, Wife Allegedly Caught With Pounds Of Marijuana

The El Paso Police Department’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Stash House unit has charged a husband and wife with 149 pounds of marijuana from an investigation on Tuesday, police officials said.

Police said investigators conducting and on-going investigation at an apartment located at 1640 N. Zaragoza located 138 bundles of marijuana inside an apartment with a total weight of 149.05 pounds.

As a result Fernando Olivares and Maria Olivarez, both of the 3600 block of Lantana, were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana over 50 lbs. and under 2000 lbs. Both were booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $20,000.00 each.

The street value of the marijuana comes to $119, 240.
