Missing Las Cruces Teen Found
A missing teenage girl from Las Cruces is reunited with her family after nearly four months.
Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office (DASO) officials tell ABC-7 that 15-year-old Bennie Barela-Gutierrez is back with her family, thanks to numerous tips and phone calls on her whereabouts. Gutierrez was last seen on December 18th, 2010.
According to the family, Guiterrez had left home previously, but never for an extended period of time. Officials were also concerned for her well-being as she did not take her medication with here and had previously attempted to harm herself.
DASO Spokesman Lieutenant Michael Kinney thanked the media for getting the word out about Garcia, as well as the residents who provided the tips that led to finding her.
