Police: Three Girls Arrested On Assault Charges After Warrant Roundup
Police said three girls ages 11 to 12 were arrested and charged Friday with assault as part of a warrant roundup in the El Paso area.
Detective Mike Baranyay with El Paso Police Department said the three arrests were all for the same incident that occurred on the 300 block of Salamanca in Socorro at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Police said the three girls are accused of attacking two others at this location.
Since all three suspects are juveniles, their names and mug shots will not be released. All three girls were released to family members after being processed.
The arrests were all part of a warrant roundup to reduce the number of wanted subjects in the region.
Baranyay said these types of roundups help to maintain awareness to make sure the public knows that if someone has a warrant for his or her arrest, the police will actively pursue that person.
Seven other people were arrested as part of this operation. Police said these roundups are expected to continue on a monthly basis.
