Hail Storm Pounds Ruidoso
A severe thunderstorm slammed Ruidoso Thursday afternoon, leaving mounds of hail behind.
UTEP Professor Carolyn Mitchell, an ABC-7 viewer, described the storm as “terrific.”
During the early afternoon storm, temperature dropped to 60 degrees, she said. ABC-7 Chief meteorologist Doppler Dave Speelman indicated that the storm dropped 1.25″ of rain.
Her photographs capturing the storm’s aftermath showed the ground covered with hail, reminiscent of the winter landscape Ruidoso is famous for.
