Police Seek 2 Men In Attempted Carjacking
Authorities are looking for two men who jumped into a woman’s car outside an East Side bank, pointed a gun at her and demanded that she drive away with them.
The incident, which is the subject of this week’s Crime Stoppers “Crime of the Week,” occurred about 6:20 p.m. May 27 in the parking lot of the Bank of America at 1330 N. Lee Trevino Drive.
Police said the man with the gun got into back seat. The woman immediately grabbed the keys and got out of the car screaming for help, and police said the two men ran away on foot because there were witnesses in the area.
Witnesses told police that the two men got into a tan, older-model four-door Oldsmobile with two other men inside. Police said the same men are believed to have unsuccessfully attempted to carjack another person about 10 minutes later at 10415 Gateway West Blvd.
Both men are described as being Hispanic, in their early 20s, 5-foot-9, with medium complexions and short brown hair. The gunman was wearing a teal shirt. The other man spoke Spanish, had a pierced eyebrow and was wearing a yellow shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes.
