Small Plane Crashes In Fabens, 2 Men Hospitalized

Texas Department of Public Safety officials tell ABC-7 the Federal Aviation Administration is now investigating a small plane crash that happened Sunday morning in Fabens.

El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies said they were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 a.m.

Deputies found the wreckage approximately 100 yards west of the 1700 block of Fabens Road.

Investigators said the two men on board were flown to area hospitals with ‘non-life threatening’ injuries.

The pair have been identified as George Doyle and William Terrell.

Investigators said a witness told them the small, yellow plane was seen launching into the air before veering to the right and crashing into the desert.

A preliminary investigation determined the possible cause of the crash to be engine failure, according to Sheriff’s officials.
