Police Report: Domestic Violence Cases Drop

The El Paso Police Department reported a decrease in domestic violence cases in the first five months of this year compared to the same period in 2011.

There were 2,091 cases of domestic violence during the first five months of 2012; there were 2,110 in 2011.

January and April were tied with the most reported domestic violence cases this year, each with 420, while February was the least violent month, with only 370 reported cases.

In 2011, the total number of domestic violence cases (5,130) was less than in 2010 (5,267).
