Man shot at west El Paso apartment complex

A 25-year-old man was shot as he tried to enter an apartment that was not his in West El Paso early Monday morning.
El Paso Police said the man was trying to enter the apartment in the 4700 block of N. Mesa when the 34-year-old resident of the apartment woke up and yelled for the man to leave.

The resident opened the front door and the suspect rushed toward him, according to police.

The resident fired a gun at the suspect, striking him in the upper torso.

The resident called 911 and the suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Charges are pending against the suspect. CAP’s investigation continues.
