Two men arrested on cocaine possession charges
El Paso Police arrested two men on drug charges in two separate incidents Saturday evening.
According to officials, 55-year-old Guillermo Luna was arrested near Estebans, on the 7900 block of North Loop.
The incident began when security at the local bar reported a drunk disturbance.
A Mission Valley Officer responded to the call just before 11 p.m., but Luna had left.
The officer located the man walking nearby and witnessed him throw an item on the ground, according to officials.
The item contained 0.5 grams of cocaine, police said. Luna was arrested.
He was charges with possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a bond of $1,500.
The second incident also happened just before 11 p.m.
An officer stopped a Dodge Caravan after witnessing the vehicle impeding traffic, officials said.
The driver, 31-year-old Ricardo Acosta, was found with 0.8 grams of cocaine in his pant pockets, according to police.
Acosta was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was booked in the EPCD Facility was well.
Acosta’s bond was set at $1,000.
