County set to conditionally offer doctor medical examiner job

El Paso County Commissioners appear to have found their new medical examiner.

Dr. Khalid Jaber will be offered the County’s meedical examiner position contingent on passing Texas tests for licensing. The motion to offer the job to Jaber was unanimous 4-0 on Monday. County Judge Veronica Escobar was absent because she is in Washington, D.C.

Jaber currently lives in Ireland, and has worked in the U.S. before. Commissioners are waiting to see if he can get a green card, too.
